Dr Michael Wynn-Williams is considered one of Brisbane’s leading gynaecological surgeons, with extensive training in advanced reproductive endosurgery and minimally invasive pelvic surgery. His surgical practice focuses on preserving a woman’s fertility in severe cases of gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids. He also specialises in laparoscopic reversal of female sterilisation.

Dr Wynn-Williams teaches and demonstrates advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery around Australia and New Zealand. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, and the convenor of the AGES laparoscopic anatomy workshops. He continues to travel to New Zealand several times a year to conduct education programs centred on advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr Wynn-Williams has travelled extensively to advance his skills, including placements in New Zealand, Scotland, England and Australia. After completing fellowship training in New Zealand, Australia and Scotland, he spent 2 years in a consultant post at Cambridge University NHS Trust, Addenbrookes Hospital, sharing his knowledge and skills with the next generation of women’s health specialists, and teaching advanced laparoscopic gynaecology surgery to doctors around the United Kingdom and Ireland.

He is a co-founder and Chariman of Eve Health, and a board member with the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES). He provides private surgical services at Mater Private Hospital, Spring Hill Specialist Day Surgery, and The Wesley Hospital, and provides public and intermediate surgery at Mater Hospital Brisbane.

Laparoscopic procedures provided by Dr Wynn-Williams include, laparoscopic resection of mild, moderate and severe endometriosis, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic reversal of female sterilisation, laparoscopic myomectomy, and laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy. He also has a wealth of experience in the assessment and treatment of endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, ovarian masses, menstrual disorders, recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility and assisted reproduction (including IVF).

Dr Wynn-Williams has an interest in the management of complex pelvic pain, using a multi-disciplinary approach including Eve’s in-house physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians and pain specialists. He also offers pelvic floor botox to combat overactive pelvic floor spasms.
