DESCRIPTION:It’s a scary statistic for parents\, that of all infant and childhood injuries\, 80% happen within the home. \n\n\nAs parents\, or parents to be\, are we skilled to handle a medical emergency? \nOur Paediatric First Aid course every month and is aimed at new parents\, parents to be\, as well as grandparents. \n\nThe course runs for 3 hours and costs $100 (including booking fee) per person. It is practical and hands-on in a small group\, with a focus on the most common household injuries known to affect babies and toddlers. \nAt the end of the session you will be more confident in what to do in an emergency situation\, equipped with the knowledge on how to save a life and know what to do in the crucial time where you are waiting for an ambulance to arrive. \nYou will learn CPR for babies and children on QCPR laerdal training manikins that provide live feedback. \n  \n  \nYou will also learn how to manage: \n\nChoking\nFevers and febrile convulsions\nBurns and scalds\nHead injuries\nAllergic reactions\nPoisons\, bites and stings\nDrownings\n\n \n \nThe sessions are run by Nicole Scurr from The Parenting Place. Nicole has extensive experience in teaching paediatric emergency\, maternal child health\, lactation therapy and first aid. \nNicole is passionate about education\, and as a parent of three\, is aware of how important it is to have knowledge surrounding first aid to help your children when you least expect it. \nEducating parents on how to respond in an emergency is essential knowledge\, it may not be your own child you assist! \nRegistrations are essential and are open to the public

DESCRIPTION:Eve Health midwives have extensive experience in caring for women during pregnancy and early motherhood and they share their experience in our in-house antenatal education program. Our antenatal classes are designed for current Eve Health patients to explain the final stages of pregnancy\, what to expect during your baby’s birth\, and the first 6 weeks at home with your new baby. \n\n\nThe sessions are most beneficial from 28 weeks’ gestation and are the perfect opportunity to prepare you and your partner for parenthood\, as well as discuss any questions with our midwives. \nWe have several programs to choose from depending on your birth preference or plan: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSmall Group Birthing Class\n\n\n\n\nThis class runs as a one-day course on alternate Saturdays at Eve Health from 9:00am -3.30pm. \nThe small group birthing class is best suited to those wanting general birthing preparation or information to decide upon their delivery preference. DESCRIPTION:Despite what much of our society believes\, breastfeeding does not just happen – it can take know-how\, perseverance\, and is a team effort between baby and mum.\n\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nJoin Lactation Consultant Candice Cherry for a Lactation Class to help you feel better prepared for when your breastfeeding journey starts.The class is 3 hours and covers topics such as: \n\nAntenatal expressing\nThe Golden Hour\nBreastfeeding in hospital – focusing on the transition over the first five days\nBreastfeeding once at home\nWhen breastfeeding needs a helping hand\n\nCandice will have time to chat through any questions you might have from the class or from your own experienc. As a Lactation Consultant\, Candice is always eager to help and provide insights that can deepen your understanding and support your breastfeeding journey. \nBookings are essential and places are limited. The cost is $213 (including booking fee) per couple. \n After you secure your ticket\, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to provide any necessary information about your partner or support person accompanying you.
