Ovarian Cyst Surgery

Back

Ovarian cysts are usually removed laparoscopically.

The cyst is often taken out in a special bag to prevent any spillage of the tissue or fluid in the cyst. Any bleeding during surgery is controlled with diathermy (electrical energy) and the ovary may be re-constituted with laparoscopic suturing after the cyst has been removed.
