Dr Ashleigh Smith is a highly skilled gynaecologist and fertility specialist. She completed her FRANZCOG specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, alongside earning a Master’s in Reproductive Medicine from UNSW. Currently, she is pursuing subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) under the guidance of A/Prof Yazdani here at Eve Health.
Dr Smith practices in a wide range of gynaecology and fertility treatments with a specialised interest in primary and secondary female and male infertility, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Sperm selection and optimisation and donor fertility cycles.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Smith serves as an associate lecturer at the University of Queensland and is the founder of the Glimmer Project, a not-for-profit organisation that conducts vital research and provides support to families coping with pregnancy loss. She has also played a significant role in developing the RANZCOG clinical guidelines for miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, and ectopic pregnancy management.
Dr Smith recognises the significance of her role in providing support and care for her patients during fertility treatments and understands how much fertility treatment can offer life-changing impacts to fulfil the dreams of parenthood. Patients can expect a compassionate and committed clinician when they visit Dr Smith. Her approach seamlessly combines the highest standards of medical care with a deep understanding of the emotional journey involved. Every step of the process is taken with the shared goal of helping patients move closer to the family of their dreams.
When she’s not at work, Dr Smith loves gardening, baking with her daughters, playing tennis, meditating and having deep and joyful connections.
