Nurse Practitioner Sam Costa is an experienced women’s health and fertility Nurse Practitioner and midwife, with a broad clinical background spanning primary health care, reproductive medicine, hormonal health, medical weight management, and sexual and reproductive health.
Sam is known for her calm, evidence-based, and deeply person-centred approach to care. She provides comprehensive primary health care alongside specialised services including menstrual and hormonal health, fertility assessment and treatment support, endometriosis, PCOS, perimenopause and menopause, cervical screening tests, contraceptive counselling and prescribing, and sexual health assessment and testing.
Sam also provides medical weight management within a strong framework of safe prescribing, careful clinical assessment, and long-term health maintenance. Where appropriate, this may include GLP-1–supported care, prescribed conservatively and in line with current evidence and regulatory guidance. Sam’s approach prioritises metabolic health, muscle preservation, nutritional adequacy, and sustainable lifestyle change, with a clear focus on weight maintenance and ongoing wellbeing, rather than short-term weight loss alone.
As the founder of CHARLI, Sam integrates advanced clinical practice with digital health innovation to improve access, continuity, and equity in women’s healthcare
Sam is also an active leader, researcher, and educator within the women’s health and fertility nursing community, contributing to national and international conversations on advanced practice nursing, digital health, and the future of women-centred care and is current in coming Chair of the Fertility Nurses of Australasia and member of the FSANZ board.
