Dr Thea Bowler is a gynaecologist with a nurturing approach who provides excellence in woman-centred care from adolescence through to the post-menopausal years. She has experience in minimally invasive gynaecology.

Thea studied medicine at the University of Queensland. She completed her specialist training in QLD and NSW and was fortunate to undertake an AGES fellowship with some of Brisbane’s leading laparoscopic gynaecologists. This has given her expertise in the management of many gynaecologic conditions via minimally invasive surgery as well as in-depth experience in caring for patients with endometriosis and complex pelvic pain. Thea is devoted to providing complete multidisciplinary care for patients suffering from pelvic pain and is experienced in providing pelvic floor Botox injections for the management of pelvic floor overactivity.

Dr Bowler has published several academic articles, including most recently, a guideline on the management of pelvic pain flares. She has written chapters for a seminal Australian textbook in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and continues to be involved in research and medical education. She is current Chair of the Queensland Persistent Pelvic Pain Network.

Thea has extensive experience in all aspects of general gynaecology including management of menstrual abnormalities, PCOS, ovarian cysts, hysterectomy, contraception advice, vulval health, cervical screening abnormalities, PMS/PMDD and fertility.

Thea’s greatest joy lies in working together with her patients to understand their unique set of problems and tailor personalised, holistic treatment plans accordingly. Through a gentle approach, Thea strives to empower her patients to understand their bodies and reclaim their gynaecological and reproductive health.
